I have been an avid reader of novels for as far back as I can remember, something my parents always encouraged me in. I might not always get to buy the latest toy, but if I said I was going to a book or comic store, my mom would always hand me some money.
I also recall begging my parents to let me stay up till eleven pm on Sunday night so I could watch Star Trek re-runs (the begging rarely worked...), and this prompted me to read a couple of the Star Trek books, including one I did as a book report in 2nd or 3rd grade (I think it was called Spock Messiah). Then, when I was about to turn nine, "Star Wars" hit the theaters, and about the same time I picked up Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I have read mostly sci-fi and fantasy since, though I do sometimes diverge from the genre.
Here you can find a running set of reviews of everything I read over a period of approximately 8 months, from late 1997 to the middle of 1998, as well as reviews of several movies, TV shows and computer games I found during that time. It became far too much effort, so I stopped the constant reviews about the time Gametek (the company I was working for at the time) went bankrupt, but I've maintained the reviews I did write, since they take up very little of the space on my webpage. In most cases, the reviews are little more than a couple of paragraphs, giving a brief idea of the plot of the book and my thoughts about whether I enjoyed it or not... don't expect thoughtful and detailed reviews here!
Also note that there are a number of my favorite novels that do not appear among these reviews, due to the simple reason that I did not happen to read them during those eight months... the reviews you will find here are a verbatum list of what I read during that time.
If you want to find something specific, I've provided a search page. It should give you an idea of how much I read to see how large the index is, given that these reviews cover less than a year of my life!
